What a good pet sitter looks like
In Erlanger, people hire pet sitters for dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight pet sitting and care while you travel. Before you let anyone in, look for:
- Neighbors whose pets they already care for
- A meet-and-greet with your pet first
- Photo or text updates during visits
- A plan for vet emergencies
Questions to ask before you hire
- How long is a visit, and what happens during it?
- Have you handled pets with medication or special needs?
- Do you send updates after each visit?
- Who covers if you're sick?
Red flags
- Won't meet your pet before the first booking
- Takes on more dogs at once than they can handle
- No backup plan
