Terms of Service

Welcome to Village Services. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.

1. What Village Services is (and isn't)

Village Services is a marketplace and venue that connects neighbors ("villagers") with independent local service providers. Providers are not our employees, agents, or contractors — they are independent businesses who decide which jobs to take, set their own prices in their proposals, and perform work using their own tools, methods, and judgment. The service agreement for any job is between the villager and the provider; Village Services is not a party to it.

2. Accounts

• You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information.
• You're responsible for activity on your account. One account per person.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) — see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

3. Bookings, payments & fees

• Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details never touch our servers.
• Providers receive 100% of their quoted price. Village Services adds a service fee (currently 15% of the quote, $2.50 minimum, plus card-processing costs) to the total shown to Villagers on jobs booked through the marketplace, deducted automatically at payout. Fees are shown before acceptance and may change with notice.
• Jobs a provider brings to the platform from their own existing client book are not charged platform fees, per our provider terms.
• Cancellation windows and any late-cancellation rules are shown in the app at booking time and apply as displayed.
• Refunds for unsatisfactory work should first be worked out between villager and provider; contact us if you can't reach a resolution and we'll help mediate in good faith.

4. Community give-back

When a member joins through a partner organization's code, a share of the platform's net fees from that member's activity is donated to the organization under our partner agreement. Donation amounts shown in the app are estimates until paid out.

5. Community standards (Village Board & reviews)

• Be a good neighbor. No harassment, hate speech, spam, scams, adult content, or posting other people's private information.
• Reviews and Board posts must reflect genuine experience. No fake or paid reviews.
• Content is filtered by automated moderation before/shortly after posting; you can report any post or comment, and block any member — blocked members' content disappears from your feed.
• We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these standards. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior.

6. Trust & safety

Some providers complete third-party background checks; a verification badge means the check cleared at the time it was run. It is not a guarantee of future conduct or work quality. Use your own judgment, especially for in-home work.

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Infinite Ventures LLC ("Village Services") disclaims all warranties and is not liable for the acts, omissions, or work quality of providers or villagers, or for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the platform fees we earned from your transactions in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Disputes

These terms are governed by Kentucky law. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration in Kenton County, Kentucky, and both sides waive class actions, except either side may use small claims court for qualifying claims.

9. Text messages (SMS terms)

If you opt in (for example by ticking the consent box on our sign-up page, texting our number, or asking us for a call or a link), Village Services may send you text messages about your account, a call you requested, a sign-up link you asked for, or answers to questions you sent. Messages come from our number, 859-495-3844.

• Message frequency varies; typically a few messages a month.
• Message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier.
• Reply STOP at any time to opt out. You will get one message confirming you are opted out and nothing further.
• Reply HELP for help, or email brad@villageservices.app.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Mobile numbers and SMS consent are never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing. See our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and continued use means acceptance.
