What a good mover looks like
In Florence, people hire movers and haulers for local moves, furniture moves, junk hauling and help loading a truck. Before you let anyone in, look for:
- A clear price by the hour or by the job
- Their own truck and equipment
- Insurance for damage
- Neighbors who have used them
Questions to ask before you hire
- Is it hourly or a flat rate? Is there a minimum?
- Do you bring dollies, straps and blankets?
- What happens if something gets damaged?
- Do you haul items to the dump or donation?
Red flags
- Price changes after the truck is loaded
- No insurance at all
- Cash only, with a large deposit
Seasonal tip for Florence: End-of-month weekends book up first. Midweek moves are easier to schedule.
